Well, where do I start.., my photo was taken by a good friend of mine - Jake Hodgkinson. Its sort of neat that as you read this I'm looking at the text... not the look I was going for however.
Back in the day when Oasis and Blur were fighting it out for the top of the pops, I was a budding art & design student at New College in Telford. I suppose some could argue that some art students are too accustomed to buds. After college i honed my skills at Bournville College of Art in Birmingham. This was a good grounding to my degree which was undertaken at Leeds Metropolitan University. Enter turning point one - a 1/2 year exchange at Utrecht Art College in Holland. i felt that this inspired so much work and instilled a desire to travel...
Three years of mind expanding, contemporary art and critique encouraged me to build on top of these skills and become an artist. I rented a studio in Shrewsbury, England and began a year of painting and graphic design.
Now enter the turning point number two - inspired by my time in Holland I decided to move to Tokyo, Japan and learn more about the lifestyle, culture and language. And so began my glorious time in East Asia.
Its been a roller coaster of fun, sushi and head scratching... I now work for Dagmusic in the media and entertainment industry. I'm kept going by new challenges and the opportunity to learn something new everyday.
